california governor jerry brown has ordered the california air resources board to begin the immediate production of the winter blend of gas. it's a blend that is much cheaper and should theoretically by increasing the supply lower these prices a little bit. now, you're seeing this is $5.39 for a gallon of regular gas here at a 76 station in cupertino. this, of course, is an extreme. you can find gas cheaper elsewhere, but it is very expensive regardless. here are the latest numbers overnight from aaa. in sf they are paying $4.73 on average. oakland and san jose around $4.67. those represent a jump of roughly 46 to 47 cents over just the past seven days. >> my god, it's just going up and it's hard to afford. i'm not working, so i'm looking for the cheapest gas. >> i try to get where i can get it the most cheapest and right now this is the area to come. >> worth the wait? >> i can say it is. >> usually california doesn't switch to this winter blend until october 31st. the downside of going early, the blend is not as friendly to the environment since it does evaporate quicker in warm wea
